Day 14-A WOW Day!

November 17, 2010 – Yesterday in Loreto was definitely a WOW Day 14! We left for the San Javier Mission at 9am and were joined by a number of Baja 1000 Racers  on preliminary runs up to the historic site, sadly we fell from 1st place to 4th by the time we reached our destination, however we did win in our class, the 15 person van carrying a double kayak on the roof.  Add the road construction and one lane sections on the switchbacks this was a memorable excursion for sure, facing one of these race cars as we returned back to Loreto added an extra element of thrill!  And of course there was the experience of the San Javier Mission itself, awesome and inspiring.  That evening we partied Mexican Style at our Fiesta Night Dinner graciously  hosted by our friends, Marvin & Shelley, the food was “Muy Ricco” and the Mariachias  “Fabuloso”.  Everyone had a great time with lots of spontaneous dancing and singing.  With out a doubt the winner of our impromptu “So You Think You Can Dance Contest?” was Marian, yes the muscles are working!  I suspect many folks will rest today.
